Monégasque pianist Stella Almondo has established herself at a remarkably young age on the international music scene through her artistic intensity and outstanding virtuosity. She first came to the attention of the general public in 2020 through the television program Prodiges on France 2 and has since continued an exceptional musical journey, joining the prestigious Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris at the age of 16.

She has already performed at renowned venues including the Opéra de Monte-Carlo, Salle Gaveau in Paris, Opéra de Reims, the Festival de la Grange de Meslay, and La Folle Journée de Nantes. As a soloist, she performs a wide-ranging concerto repertoire and is also an active chamber musician, collaborating with distinguished artists such as Gautier Capuçon and the Modigliani Quartet.

With these Angels and Demons, Stella Almondo articulates, based on and around the character of Mephisto, various figures from tales, legends and poems that inspired Liszt. The 19-year-old Monegasque pianist approaches the virtuosity of this programme not only with intensity but with a long-standing and visceral love for Liszt, her lifelong companion. ‘From light to darkness, from awakening to downfall, from silence to incandescence, Liszt never chooses a mask: he embraces them all and holds up a mirror to us... A mirror that does not lie.’

Her first album, Passion (Naïve/Believe, 2024), devoted to works by Blumenfeld, Rachmaninoff and Scriabin, surpassed one million streams within just four months of its release and received widespread critical acclaim. For this second album, Stella Almondo has created a very intellectual work, but the album is intended to appeal not only to music lovers but also to the general public. The recital program will therefore be centered around the release of her new album, although the final program has not yet been finalized.
