During World War II, Cindy Lou visits her fiancé Joe, a corporal assigned to the Jacksonville military base. Carmen Jones, who works in the parachute workshop attached to the base, turns all the men's heads. She provokes Joe, then gets into a fight with another worker. Joe's leave to marry Cindy Lou is cancelled. He is forced to take Carmen Jones to the military authorities. In fact, he had applied for the job.
