The FESN, founded in 1983 by leading scientists, is one of the first European foundations dedicated to the study of the nervous system. It has two objectives: to create a high-level forum for experts in emerging neurosciences and to disseminate advances to non-specialists.
Since its creation, the FESN has organised around ten meetings on a variety of themes, including biological rhythms and neurodegenerative diseases, culminating in the ‘Discussions in Neurosciences’ series of publications aimed at the general public.
