At the request of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, the Principality will host the 83rd INTERPOL General Assembly from 3 to 7 November 2014.
The date chosen is symbolic – in April 1914, Prince Albert I held the first International Criminal Police Congress in Monaco. This would serve as the basis for the creation of INTERPOL in 1923. Fifteen or so delegations took part in the Congress.
A hundred years later, more than 1,200 delegates from INTERPOL's 190 member countries will meet at the Grimaldi Forum for a General Assembly on the theme of "100 Years of International Police Cooperation."
